Firm’s ‘Return and Reskill’ offering aimed at women re-entering workforce
Women in Leinster are showing strong intent to retrain or re-enter the workforce, according to new research commissioned by the Mullingar-based business, Forus Training.
The study, conducted by Opinions.ie among a nationally representative sample of 892 adults, found that one in five women in Leinster plan to retrain or upskill in the next three years, reflecting growing confidence in flexible routes back to work.
The findings show women in the region are more likely to have taken time out of employment due to family or caring responsibilities and now want accessible and affordable ways to gain qualifications. Launching the Return and Reskill campaign in Mullingar, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke, TD (right), said: “Upskilling and retraining are essential if Ireland is to remain competitive in a changing economy,” he said. “There are thousands of people ready to return to work or change direction, and flexible training routes like Forus’s Return and Reskill campaign help make that possible in every region.”
Lisa O’Connell, managing director of Forus Training, said the campaign was designed to meet women where they are in life.
“So many women tell us they want to return to work but don’t know where to start,” she said. “Forus courses are fully online and self-paced which means learners can study from home at times that suit their families and other commitments. It’s about giving women back control over their learning and their careers.”
All Forus Training courses are QQI accredited and delivered online, allowing learners anywhere in Leinster to study remotely and complete modules in their own time. Courses span health, business and technology, helping thousands of adults each year to upskill or change career.
