Westmeath Gardai seize large quantity of HHC

Westmeath Gardai seized an estimated €7,000 worth of drugs from a retail premises in Mullingar this week.

Gardai from the Westmeath Divisional Drug Unit carried out a search of the retail premises under the National Garda Anti-Drugs Operation Tara.

They seized a huge quantity of Hexahydrocannabinol, which was more commonly known as HHC, made illegal earlier this year.

In their Facebook post, An Garda Síochána’s Westmeath Division said: “This morning, Gardai from the Westmeath Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search at a retail premises in Mullingar town and seized over €7,000 of HHC.

“These products are often aimed at teenagers, and we would like to remind them that these products have been illegal since the end of July, and consuming them can pose health risks.”
