Valulable, timely information presented at pensions event
Mullingar Chamber held an important information event on the theme of pension auto enrolment in partnership with LEO Westmeath on October 9 last. Eoin Longwill, certified financial planner, provided insights on how auto enrolment will affect employers, including key dates and contribution rates.
A lively Q&A session followed, giving attendees the chance to get their questions answered directly.
Auto enrolment comes into effect on January 1 next, meaning any eligible employees not already in a pension arrangement with payroll contributions will be automatically enrolled in the scheme from that date. Employers must ensure their payroll systems can handle auto enrolment instructions.
James Bourke, president of Mullingar Chamber, said: “Thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special thanks to Catriona from LEO and our own board member Suzanne McEvoy, who were key to the success of the event.”
