Fagan fourth in San Sebastián cross country

Claire Fagan opened her cross country season with a fourth place finish in the Cross Internacional de San Sebastián, a World Athletics World Cross Country Tour Silver event, on Sunday.

Fagan finished fourth in the senior women’s 6.9km in 23:33 in a race won by steeplechase specialist Celeste Biwott from Kenya in 23:09. Spaniards Marta Serrano and Lucia Rodriguez finished in second and third in 23:17 and 23:28 respectively.

This is Claire’s first time competing in Euskal Herria and though it was just a flying visit, she enjoyed competing in what is an historic cross country event. The race on Sunday was the 69th edition of the Cross Internacional de San Sebastián.
