Teresa Treanor from Castlepollard celebrated her 90th birthday with friends, neighbours and family at the Castle Varagh hotel on Sunday October 26. In lieu of presents, Teresa requested donations for the children of Gaza, and more than €700 was collected for UNICEF.
Attendees were serenaded with tunes by Teresa’s nieces Ethna and Sarah Scallon on violin/viola accompanied by local man Peter Earley on his guitar, as they arrived for a delicious meal followed by a slideshow of photographic memories and videos from wellwishers.
Tables were beautifully decorated in an autumn theme with pumpkins filled with flowers by local florist Pauline Smith.
Teresa’s interests in gardening and knitting were represented on a delicious cake.
Teresa is wished good health and happiness for many years to come.
