Burke thanks supporters of coffee morning for Hospice

The Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke, TD, has thanked all who supported and made donations to his coffee morning in aid of North Westmeath Hospice, held in his Blackhall constituency office on Thursday October 24.

Coinciding with the presidential election day, the event attracted around 100 people throughout the morning, many stopping by before or after they voted.

A total of €1,200 was raised for the hospice.

Minister Burke expressed his gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed:

“It was a fantastic morning – thank you so much to everyone who attended and for your kind donations,” he said.

“The money raised will go towards North Westmeath Hospice, a fantastic local organisation with a great record of providing compassionate palliative care services to our community for many years.

“It was also a great opportunity to catch up with neighbours and local businesses. Events like this remind us how important it is to have a strong sense of community and to support one another in the work we do locally.”

The minister also extended special thanks to Dominic O’Sullivan, whose late wife was an active member of the hospice fundraising committee, for supplying a marquee and to Pita Pit / Papi Chulo for providing benches.
