Wet and windy day in Westmeath

We are in for a wet blustery day in Westmeath today, as a Status Yellow rain warning is issued for counties as close as Meath.

Most of the county will be hit by strong winds with 100% of the Mullingar area being covered by heavy rainfall from 6pm.

Wind speeds may reach 44 kilometres an hour, with average temperatures sitting around 7 degrees throughout the day.

It will continue to rain throughout the early hours of the morning, but will settle as it comes into mid morning tomorrow.
