Cold weather to persist over the next two days

Very cold spell over next two days

Like the rest of Ireland, Westmeath is in for a cold spell over the next two evenings, with temperatures getting to below -2 on Thursday night.

Today, (November 19), temperatures will sit at around five degrees during the day, but will drop to zero degrees.

The weather will remain dry, but Met Éireann is advising people to be wary of icy patches, and some snow or sleet may occur throughout the country.

Although degrees will sit between two and minus two over the next couple of days, it will feel a lot colder.
