Final show of the year for Community Cinema
North Westmeath Community Cinema will screen their last film of the year at the end of this month.
They are a voluntary group who bring non-mainstream (mainly foreign language) films to Castlepollard.
The aim of the group is to offer these films to local people near where they live. Films are screened once a month, on a Sunday night at the Castle Varagh Hotel. Their last film of 2025 will be screened on November 30. Organisers say that December is too busy to add a film to the mix.
The November screening will be ‘Jane Austen Wrecked My Life’. This is a comedy in French and English. Inviting the public to the film, the organisers said: “Before the chaos of December swallows us all up, a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and a little festive cake will be served prior to the film. I do hope you will have time to join us for this at 7pm before the film starts at 7.30pm.” They concluded by thanking everyone who attended throughout the season, and Castle Varagh Hotel for hosting the screenings.
