“Overall it was a great night, and there was a full house in the hall,” is how Daniel Boland summed up how the fundraising concert for Ballymore Comhaltas on Saturday week last.
As well as being on stage with the other members of the Lissadell Ceili Band, Daniel is chairperson of the local branch, and, wearing that hat, he said: “I’d like to thank vice-chair Niamh Nally for all her hard work over the last few weeks in the organisation of it all – also, thanks to Sean Nally, Imelda Finerty, Rose Higgins, Collette Glynn, Karen Meehan Padraic Keena, Aoife Nally, Bernie Boland and Helen Cunningham, and the hall committee in Ballymore.”
As well as the music on the night, there was a warm welcome for founding branch members Johnny Clearly and Bridie McLoughlin and their families, said Daniel.
He added: “I’d also like to thank the members of Westmeath County Board and Leinster Council members who also attended on the night.
“It was great night of music, and a great after party in Jimmy Cassell’s bar, where the session went into the early hours.”
He concluded by thanking fellow members of the Lissadell Ceili Band, who provided the music.
