Open letter to Santa from Student Council of Presentation Senior School

Dear Santa,

Christmas greetings from the Student Council of Presentation Senior School! We’ve all been thinking very hard about our Christmas wish this year, and before we tell you anything else, we want to say it loud and clear – and maybe with a little Mariah Carey music in the background – ‘All we want for Christmas… is a school traffic warden…’

First of all, we hope Mrs Claus is keeping well and that she’s making sure you’re eating your vegetables, not just cookies. Please also give our best to the reindeer, especially Rudolph. We know he’s the favourite (don’t worry, we won’t tell the others).

Santa, we’ve been so good this year. Exceptionally good. The kind of good that would make your elves whisper, ‘They deserve something BIG.’ We’ve worked hard, been kind, kept our classrooms tidy and helped each other every day.

We also know all about Road Safety and the Safe Cross Code and we follow it properly – we Stop, Look and Listen like absolute professionals. But even with all that, going home at 2.30pm every day is a bit like stepping into the Christmas Eve sleigh launch – fast, busy, and slightly terrifying!

There are so many cars, so many pupils, and so much traffic that even Rudolf would say, ‘No chance.’

It gets very dangerous, and everyone – pupils, teachers and parents – worries about staying safe.

So Santa, this year we don’t want toys, gadgets or giant chocolate Santas (well… we wouldn’t say no, but that’s not the point!).

All we want for Christmas is a school traffic warden, someone who can help keep us safe every day when we’re going home. It would be the best present ever, and we promise we’d treat them like absolute Christmas royalty.

We hope this Christmas wish comes true.

And Santa, when you head out on Christmas Eve, please travel safely yourself. Use your seatbelt, keep both hands on the reins, and watch out for low-flying drones. The world is a busy place!

Thank you, Santa.

From all of us at Presentation Senior School, with love and a big hopeful Christmas wish.

Yours magically,

The Student Council on behalf of all 307 pupils, staff and parents.
