Shannon Basin Radio Club AGM

Shannon Basin Radio Club held their AGM for 2025 on December 5 in Roscommon. As part of the elected committee for 2026, Owen O’Reilly (secretary) and Keith Nolan (PRO) are both from Mullingar.

Amateur radio is a popular technical hobby and volunteer public service. It uses designated radio frequencies for non-commercial exchange of messages, wireless experimentation, self-training, and emergency communications.

During the year, club members run and take part in events that demonstrate amateur radio operation and to help them improve their skills.

The club were prominent at the Irish Radio Transmitters Society event held at the Mullingar Showgrounds in September. Anyone interested in the hobby and Shannon Basin Radio Club can contact the club and learn more at sbrc.ie; see also, irts.ie.
