Glen's Christmas delight

Long regarded as the best female player within Mullingar Bowls Club, our long serving Competition Secretary, Glen Ridsdale claimed her first Christmas Singles title after a sterling campaign.

Having overcome Joe Kincaid in an extremely close fought semi-final, Glen was just a game away from realising her dream.

On the opposite mat, Mark Foran faced the in-form Eugene McComb. On the night the latter never relented and deservedly advanced to the decider.

It set the scene for a titanic final and so it proved. Glen's rich vein of form persisted and despite Eugene's best efforts, Glen emerged victorious to claim the Sean Harraghy Memorial Trophy.

Following the presentation of prizes, by Club Chairman, Paddy Montgomery, the members were treated to some lovely seasonal fare.
