Bunbrosna Scór all set for All-Ireland final in Killarney

Bunbrosna Scór have been in action since 1973 with a very strong successful history of All-Ireland success, including three senior set dancing titles, one Fleadh title, one recitation title with Christy Duffy in the 1970s, and one recitation Scór na nÓg All-Ireland title for Avril Whitney.

This weekend our current Junior Set Dancing team, made up of Clodagh Dodrill, Kate Reynolds, Isabelle Maher, Anna Dunleavy, Aoife Dunleavy, Ciara Carey, Katie Tyrrell, Sarah Tyrrell and Siun Halpin Murphy are competing in the Scór na nÓg All-Ireland Final on Saturday, January 24 in the famous INEC Killarney. They are only the second Bunbrosna junior team to be county champions, and they are the first ever junior Bunbrosna team to become Leinster champions. They will make history for the club when they take the stage in Killarney this weekend.

Last Friday night, Bunbrosna Scór hosted a very well- attended table quiz in Tormey's pub, Bunbrosna, to support the girls and wish them well on their way to the final.

There were 27 tables competing in the quiz and the girls danced their set for the big crowd. The club were fortunate and honoured to have members of our original scór from the 1970s, along with others from the 80s, 90s and noughties in attendance, which really added to the occasion and proud tradition of Bunbrosna Scór. The club wishes to thank everyone who has been so kind in their support of the girls at this time.

This wonderful group of dedicated friends have worked hard to get where they are and their camaraderie and enjoyment for dancing shows every time they take to the stage. All in Bunbrosna and Westmeath would like to wish the girls the very best of luck in the final. Bunbrosna Scór also wishes Darragh McCabe (Mullingar Shamrocks - Solo singing) Eoghan McKenna (St. Loman's - Recitation) and Ballinagore (Table Quiz team) the very best of luck also as they represent Westmeath and Leinster in the All-Ireland final this weekend.
