Rose of Tralee one of main speakers at this year's Midlands Career Expo
Katelyn Cummins, 2025 Rose of Tralee and an apprentice electrician, and Andrew Lynch, chief innovation officer at IMR (Irish Manufacturing Research), are the main speakers at his year's Midlands Career Expo.
This year’s theme, The Future of Work, addresses how traditional industries and modern technology are merging to create new opportunities in the region.
The event is on Saturday February 21 at the Mullingar Park Hotel (9.30am-4pm).
Mullingar Chamber, the organisers, say Katelyn Cummins offers a unique perspective on the practicalities and advantages of the apprenticeship route; and Andrew Lynch will explore the integration of AI and robotics in manufacturing, providing a deep dive into how automation is reshaping workflows and the skills required to thrive in the industry.
Beyond professional development, this year’s expo introduces a lifestyle component to promote Mullingar and its surrounding areas as a premier location to live and work.
Local organisations, such as sports clubs and the Mullingar Town Band, will be present to showcase the community spirit and amenities that define the region.
