Cloudy and cool in morning, sunny spells in afternoon
The rest of the week will welcome milder conditions following Storm Chandra, according to Met Éireann.
Today will be cloudy and cool in the morning, with patchy drizzle in the south. Sunny spells will arrive later, and dry weather in the afternoon.
Isolated showers may develop in southern parts of the county along with a southerly breeze with highs of 7 and 9 degrees.
Tonight, will see clouds develop along with isolated showers, however, showers are expected to die out through the night and see clear spells develop. Mist spells will also develop overnight with lows of three and five degrees.
Tomorrow will be cloudy once again with patchy rain that will be followed by persistent showers moving throughout the county in the afternoon and evening. These showers will be paired with strengthening winds and highs of 7 to 10 degrees.
Friday will see rain throughout the early morning and then remain cloudy for the rest of the day.
Saturday will see cloudy conditions throughout the day and Sunday will see some showers in the morning but clear skies in the afternoon.
Overall, while it seems that the rain is not set to let up just yet, there will be a respite as this week wears on, with milder sunnier spells arriving however briefly as well as warmer southerly winds.
