Neven visits the historic town of Bishop Auckland in Durham, where a regeneration programme features the striking Viewing Tower designed by Irish architect Niall McLaughlin, who also designed the Faith Museum in the grounds of Auckland Palace. Neven then realises his childhood dream of driving a train – the recently restored heritage Weardale Railway.

A former low level criminal out on parole has to outrun the cops again while trying to get his cut of an old bank heist from his former team. Adrenaline-pumping action starring martial arts star Scott Adkins, along with Vinnie Jones, Nicole Dean and Mark Strong. Expect strong language, balletic kung-fu moves and Vinnie getting angry.

Peggy Sue Got Married (RTÉ 1, Friday 13th, 11.15pm)

In keeping with the Valentine’s Day vibe, this classic from 1986 should set hearts a-flutter. An unhappily married Peggy Sue Bodell attends her 25-year high school reunion, hoping for a better life. When she faints at the reunion, she reawakens in 1960 – and she’s given the chance to relive her life. But will she do it? Kathleen Turner and Nicholas Cage star.

How To Train Your Dragon (Sky Cinema Premiere, from Friday)

On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup stands apart. The inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler, reprising his voice role from the animated franchise), Hiccup defies centuries of tradition when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon.

Kristen Bell and Kirby Howell-Baptiste play two women who amassed millions through coupon fraud in this comedy crime caper inspired by real events. Unhappily married and having amassed huge debts in their attempts to have a child, there’s one thing that gets Connie going – a ‘coupon high’ – the magic chits that can slash a shopping bill to zero.

Neighbourhood Watch (Sky Cinema Premiere, from Saturday)

When a mentally ill young man thinks he witnesses an abduction and the police refuse to believe him, he reluctantly turns to his next-door neighbour, a bitter retired security guard, to help him find the missing person. Jack Quaid and Jeffrey Dean Morgan generate solid screen chemistry. Expect a sequel.

CLASSIC MOVIE

Saving Private Ryan (RTÉ 2, Saturday 14th, 9.10pm)

Rightly deserving of its label as ‘the best war story ever told’, this stars Tom Hanks as Captain John Miller, who takes his men behind enemy lines to find Private James Ryan, whose three brothers have been killed in combat. It becomes a journey to the heart of darkness, where each soldier will discover his strengths and weaknesses. Outstanding.

Minions: The Rise Of Gru (RTÉ 1, Saturday 14th, 6.35pm)

In the heart of the 1970s, amid a flurry of feathered hair and flared jeans, Gru becomes a fanboy of supervillain supergroup Vicious 6, and hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them. Luckily, he gets some mayhem-making backup from his loyal followers, the Minions, who deploy their skills to pull off the missions.
