Atlantic Care Midlands offer Spain prize for caregivers

Atlantic Care are continuing to make a strong impact across the midlands, supporting people to live independently in their own homes with dignity and compassion.

Founded in 2023 by experienced professionals in nursing, training and social care, the company has quickly grown into a leading home care agency serving Westmeath and surrounding areas. Its mission is simple: to provide essential services that help people maintain their independence and quality of life.

Regional manager Mick Garvin says the success of the organisation comes down to the caregivers: “We employ, provide training and support extraordinary people to carry out an exceptional job,” he said.

Recognising the dedication of our caregivers is central to the Atlantic Care ethos. Each month, a caregiver from each region is honoured for demonstrating Atlantic Care’s core values of dignity, integrity, compassion and excellence.

The initiative reflects a broader philosophy within Atlantic Care: that Caregivers must be cared for too.

This February marks a special milestone as Atlantic Care prepare to announce their first-ever Caregiver of the Year on Friday 27 February at 5pm.

The winner will receive a flight voucher and paid accommodation in a Spanish villa in recognition of outstanding commitment.

“We are lucky to have some of the most dedicated, compassionate and kind-hearted caregivers working with us,” Mick said.

The company continue to recruit new team members and offer full training, including QQI Level 5 Care Skills and Care of the Older Person, along with additional mandatory training.

Atlantic Care support those considering a career change and guides new recruits through the qualification process.

With a growing and diverse workforce, Atlantic Care remain committed to both client wellbeing and staff support.

As anticipation builds for the Caregiver of the Year announcement, Mick says the event is a celebration of every caregiver making a difference in homes across the midlands each day.
