Mullingar woman accused of drug dealing to stand trial
A Mullingar woman has been sent forward to face trial accused of drug dealing following a raid on her home just over a year ago.
Rosaleen Rowley (55) of 8 Grange Heights, Mullingar, Westmeath was served with a book of evidence at last week’s sitting of Mullingar District Court arising from an incident at her home on January 23 last year.
Garda Mervyn Henson gave sworn evidence of having served the book on Ms Rowley, which, it was confirmed, contained four charges.
Two of the four related to alleged sale or supply of cocaine and cannabis and two to personal possession charges of the same controlled drugs.
Sgt Orla Keenan said the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had consented for all four charges in the book of evidence to be decided in the Circuit Criminal Court.
Judge Bernadette Owens gave Ms Rowley the alibi warning and approved the state order to remand the accused on bail to a sitting of Mullingar Circuit Criminal Court on April 16.
