Tyrellspass GAA 5K Run sees great success
Tyrellspass GAA Club’s Fit for Feb 5km Run/Walk took place on Saturday morning and saw a great turnout from the local community.
According to the club, runners, joggers and walkers of all ages took part which created a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere throughout the morning.
Registration was held in the Tyrellspass clubhouse from 9:15 am.
The event was a part of the clubs involvement in the GAA Healthy Clubs initiative, which is a national programme dedicated to supporting GAA clubs across the country in promoting the physical, mental and social wellbeing of their members and communities.
Val Sizychas, Tyrellspass GAA’s Healthy Clubs Officer spoke after the event.
“Fit For Feb was about much more than completing a 5km.
“It was about encouraging people of all ages to get active, connect with others and prioritise their wellbeing.
“The Healthy Clubs initiative gives us a strong framework to support our community in a meaningful way.
“It was fantastic to see such a positive turnout and atmosphere on the day.”
After the 5k, participants returned to the clubhouse to enjoy refreshments and chat with one another.
The club wishes to thank all participants and volunteers who made the day so successful.
The club is excited about building on this momentum and looks forward to
developing new Healthy Clubs initiatives in the months ahead, continuing to
strengthen wellbeing, inclusion and community engagement within Tyrrellspass.
