Emirates providing flights from Dubai to Dublin today

Irish citizens in the Middle East will now have the opportunity to return home in order to escape the difficult situation in the region.

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Helen McEntee, took to her X account to inform citizens that a flight is to be offered from Dubai to Dublin on Wednesday.

Since this conflict began, much of the airspace surrounding the area had been closed, causing alot of Irish citizens to be stuck there.

Minister McEntee’s post said: “Positive development. Emirates has decided to run a flight from Dubai to Dublin later today.

“We are in close touch with the airline. They will be in direct contact with passengers whose flights were cancelled.”

Minister McEntee also released a statement on her X account on Tuesday, where she said: “Our team will now take the necessary steps to finalise a first government of Ireland charter flight for Irish citizens to depart the region.

“Those citizens requiring the most assistance will be contacted directly by my department in the coming days. I would ask for everyone’s patience as our most vulnerable citizens are contacted in this first phase of our response to this crisis.”

The flight is due to depart Dubai for Dublin at 6pm on Wednesday, with around 400 people scheduled to be on board.
