Cars and Coffee returns to Streete this Sunday

Car enthusiasts from all over Ireland will descend on Streete Parish Park next Sunday, March 8, for the third annual Cars and Coffee event. There will be tea, coffee and lots of goodies, and a chance to chat and view the vehicles on display from 9am to 1pm.

This event raised €4,500 for the Irish Cancer Society last year, and €2,500 for the Irish Road Traffic Victims Association in its first year.

Eamonn Campbell, PRO of the Streete Vintage Club, who are running the event, explained: “They don’t have to be vintage vehicles, there will be everything from antiques to modern-day supercars, some of them worth €200,000 to €300,000.

“Last year we had about 120 to 130 cars, from 1912 to 2025, and everything in between, including a Lamborghini that you would only see in Monte Carlo.”

He pointed out that Sunday’s event is a precursor of the annual Streete Vintage Show held every year in June – which is limited to vintage vehicles. This year’s show will be officially launched in the coming weeks.

A native of Streete, Eamonn is a pipe fitter by trade but he has been involved in cars trucks and engine in general “from a very young age”. He is joined on the Streete Vintage Club committee by chairman James Parker, vice chairman Kevin Brady, secretary Niall Tully and treasurer William McGlynn.

Sunday’s event is family friendly and free. There will be donation boxes for those who wish to make a donation. The proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House charity which provides support for families with seriously ill children, and the newly formed Lisryan Community First Responders group that covers the parish of Streete.
