Special Friday fundraiser for Irish Cancer Society
A special fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society will take place in Clarke’s Bar, Mullingar, tonight and it promises to be a wonderful occasion.
Great work has been ongoing in recent weeks to put together a special evening in aid of a very good cause and it’s in keeping with the time of year in which the charity looks for support for the vital work undertaken. Tonight's fundraiser includes a Karaoke that will carry significant meaning and music and song will be at the heart of a very special event.
A number of people have been working together to organise singers for the evening, plan a running order and secure prizes for the raffle.
Called 'Daffodils and Ducks', the theme has been specially chosen and carries a special significance with all involved.
Kieran Clarke, proprietor Clarke's Bar, said: “It will be emotional. Someone very special is at the forefront of our minds, as are family, nearest and dearest. There has been a special effort behind the scenes by a lot of people. Great prizes have been sponsored for what should be a big raffle. It’s all for a special and worthy cause, something that sadly affects so many families and puts everything else into perspective.”
The fundraiser will kick off following the big Six Nations rugby clash between Ireland and Wales (8.10pm).
