Mullingar Toastmasters celebrate 29 years

For nearly three decades, Mullingar Toastmasters have been helping shaky voices become steady. In 1997, the club was formed with the goal of giving members of the community a place to do something brave by stepping outside of comfort zones to grow themselves as speakers, thinkers, leaders, and communicators.

Now, in 2026, screens have gone a long way to replace conversation, leaving much communication to occur in silence.

That’s why today, more than ever, having the ability to stand in a room (or on a Zoom), look people in the eye, and speak with clarity serves as an increasingly valuable skill.

At Toastmasters, every member gains experience writing, delivering, and giving feedback on speeches, in addition to thinking on their feet during Table Topics, when they are asked to speak for a couple minutes on any number of subjects.

Whether you’re about to deliver a speech at your daughter’s wedding, asking for a raise in your pay, advocating for your child at a school meeting, or leading a team, Mullingar Toastmasters are here to serve as your coach. There’s no criticism. The only goal is to make you a better speaker.

Mullingar Toastmasters next meet on Thursday March 12 at 8pm in the Greville Arms Hotel.

“Come be our guest and see the club in action.”
