St Brigid's Hurling and Camogie Club celebrated a great year with a Dinner Dance on Friday in Bloomfield House Hotel, Mullingar. Over 300 people attended, leading to a very successful event.
Paddy Gavin, the club's Lifetime President, presented medals to the intermediate winning side. The junior camogie side was also honoured on the evening.
Special guests included Westmeath County Committee chairman Paddy Wallace and Westmeath Camogie chairperson, Deirdre Clarke.
It was a special year for the Dalystown club and the main highlight was the turning of the sod on their new pitch by Paddy Gavin, something which united the entire community. Dermot Faulkner, manager of the intermediate hurlers, spoke on the significance of this on the night, while he also introduced the successful players. The club’s progress at underage level was also recognised.
