Fifth All-Ireland title for Rochfortbridge BC
Carley O’Herron has secured her fifth All-Ireland title while proudly representing Rochfortbridge Boxing Club, further cementing her outstanding record.
A long-time member of the club, Carley has consistently performed at a high level nationally and internationally, having previously won two European medals at underage level.
Throughout the competition, Carley showed skill and composure. In the semi-final, she earned a convincing victory over Banbridge’s Paige Nickels, the current European bronze medallist, and then overcame Keelan O’Flynn of East Cork in the final with another assured performance. Both opponents gave her a tough challenge, highlighting the high standard of competition.
This success is particularly significant given the setbacks Carley has faced in recent years, including several very close and, at times, contentious decisions in finals and semi-finals. Her perseverance and determination have now been rewarded.
Winning five All-Ireland titles is a remarkable achievement and a source of pride for Rochfortbridge Boxing Club and the local community. At just the latest step in her journey, this success gives Carley a strong platform to build on in the years ahead.
