Cost of fuel remains high in Mullingar
It's the big talking point of the moment - the cost of petrol, diesel and home eating oil.
On Tuesday, March 24, the government announced measures to lower the cost of petrol and diesel, but motorists in Mullingar are not seeing the full extent of the reduction at the pumps.
The measures meant a 15 cent per litre reduction for petrol, a 20 cent per litre reduction for auto diesel, and 3 cent per litre reduction for MGO (Marine Gas Oil). However, as of today, motorists in Mullingar are still paying around 1.95 per litre for petrol - a modest reduction.
Among the best value today was that at Certa, Tesco Shopping Centre, Mullingar, with the price of a litre of petrol €1.84.9. That's around nine cent cheaper than it was the previous week.
For kerosene, the cost was €1.76 and €1.77 per litre.
