Van driver taken to Mullingar hospital after serious road accident near Ballinahown
Gardaí and emergency services responded to report of a serious two-vehicle road traffic collision on the N62 at Ballinahown,, this afternoon, Sunday March 29.
The collision, involving a car and a van, occurred at approximately 1pm.
The female driver of the van (aged in her 40s) was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment of serious injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The adult male driver of the car (aged in his late teens) was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The three male passengers of the car (aged in their 20s) also attended Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for injuries.
The scene has been preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
