Extra date at 3Arena for Niall Horan's Dinner Party tour
Mullingar’s most famous native, Niall Horan, has today announced an additional Dublin date for his 2026 world tour, which is promoting his new album, Dinner Party.
The former One Direction star announced that week that he will play the 3Arena in Dublin on November 9 and November 10, and the extra date is Thursday November 12
The tour concludes with a show at the SSE Arena in Belfast on November 15. Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster tomorrow, Thursday April 2.
Niall, who has been the winning coach on the last three seasons of The Voice USA, has revealed that the title of the new album commemorates the way he met his long-term girlfriend, Amelia Woolley: she was a late addition to the line-up for a dinner party being hosted by a mutual friend, and they have been together since.
"The dinner party is that once-in-a-lifetime moment that reroutes life as I thought it was," he told interviewer Zach Sang on his podcast, stating that up to meeting Amelia, he was single, travelling the world and he had not had the chance to really put down roots.
Asked about how he writes his material, Niall told the interviewer that his phone is full of voice notes consisting of him singing brief melodies – sometimes verses, sometimes choruses.
Amelia is, he went on to say, the inspiration for all the songs on this new album.
Niall revealed that despite his fame, he is able to live a normal life – with the exception that he accepts he will sometimes get approached. He agreed that when One Direction started out, they were confined to their hotel rooms, but now he can go out for a beer or use public transport.
"I never wanted to be like ‘poor me’, that was just the way it was: there was a lot of people around," he told the interviewer, adding that as he has got older, he’s more prepared to get out and do what he wants.
"You know, people are going to come up to you and say ‘hello’, and that’s fine. I used to be nearly afraid of that, but, yeah, I love it now. I basically live a completely normal life, freely, apart from the fact that if I walk in somewhere, someone’s going to come up and say hello. That’s fine. Like I walk the dog every day and go in the Tube and go into town and go for beers and live life."
On a more negative note, Niall admitted to problem with his knees and his hips. "I think I was just genetically f****d from the day I was born," he said, stating that other family members have had to have hip and knee replacement operations done.
"My dad is 66 this year. He’s just had a knee replacement. He’s had a hip done 18 months ago," he said, adding that an uncle had to have both knees operated on.
