St Paul’s car wash drives fundraising efforts ahead of 24-hour walkathon

St Paul’s GFC continued their busy schedule of fundraising activities with a car and truck wash on Saturday week last, April 11, at the club grounds in Clonmellon.

From 10am to 3pm, the club’s ‘Clean Machine Crew’, made up of U16 and U18 footballers alongside committee members, rolled up their sleeves to ensure every vehicle left the club grounds sparkling. The event was part of the club’s fundraising campaign in the lead-up to a 24-Hour walkathon next weekend.

The community have shown strong support through a range of events, including 3k and 5k walks, quizzes and movie nights, ball runs, bake sales, raffles, and tractor runs.

All funds raised are contributing towards development plans for the club, including the development of a new fitness and training suite, two additional dressing rooms, upgraded goal posts, ball catcher nets, and new railings around the second pitch. The improvements aim to benefit all members of the club and community, both GAA and LGFA, catering to players and non-players of all ages.

The fundraising campaign will end in a 24-Hour Walkathon on April 24, during which different teams will be taking part each hour. Each group, led by a designated team captain, will be responsible for completing their time slot while also contributing to the overall fundraising effort.
