Man on pharmacy charge remanded on bail
A man who stole a number of items from a Mullingar pharmacy has been further remanded on bail to allow the court’s presiding judge to dispose of the case.
Andrew Masterson (31) 73 Grange Village, Mullingar, Westmeath appeared at last week’s District Court sitting having entered a guilty plea at an earlier court sitting over a shoplifting incident at Boots, Harbour Place Shopping Centre, Mullingar, Westmeath on November 21, 2025.
Mr Masterson had pleaded guilty to stealing a watch, perfume and electric razor valued at €149, and was placed on continuing bail to monitor his progress.
Sgt Orla Keenan confirmed Mr Masterson had not come to any further garda attention since his last court appearance.
Judge Patricia Cronin, who was standing in for her colleague and presiding District No 9 Judge Bernadette Owens, said it was her belief the case should be put back for determination by Judge Owens.
Louis Kiernan, in defence, concurred with that view adding there was a certain background that needed consideration before any verdict was handed down.
Judge Cronin remanded Mr Masterson on bail to a court sitting on May 14 for finalisation.
