Mullingar invited to support FTD Brothers when they visit on 32-marathon challenge

Mullingar Town Park on Wednesday 13 May, 9.45am start time

Schools, community groups, and members of the public are being encouraged to gather in Mullingar Town Park on Tuesday 13 May to support The FTD Brothers (Jordan and Cian Adams) as they continue their fundraising challenge in aid of dementia awareness and research.

The FTD Brothers are running 32 marathons, one in each county in Ireland, aiming to raise funds and awareness of dementia and its impact on families and communities.

Mullingar will host one of these marathon events, and organisers are calling on the community to turn out in large numbers to provide encouragement and support throughout the day either by running some or all of the distance, provide water stops along the route or to cheer them on along the way.

The Mullingar Marathon route is here.

Supporters are invited to attend both the start and finish of the marathon.

• Start 9.45am, Mullingar Town Park

• Finish 2pm approximately, Mullingar Town Park

Schools are particularly encouraged to involve students, and local organisations are asked to mobilise their members to help create a strong and uplifting atmosphere for the runners.

“This is a unique opportunity for the Mullingar community to come together in support of an inspiring cause. A large turnout would mean a great deal to The FTD Brothers as they take on this remarkable challenge,” said Cllr Mick Dollard, mayor of Mullingar.

Members of the public are encouraged to bring banners, wear bright colours, and help generate a positive and energetic environment on the day.

All profits go directly to the FTD Brothers Foundation CIC & Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
