A positive day for Mullingar Kyokushinkai Karate Club
The Mullingar Kyokushinkai Karate Club has enjoyed a visit from two ladies who are preparing for their 2nd Dan Black Belt Grades and are availing of extra training and tuition by visiting other Dojos throughout Ireland. The visitors gave Mullingar participants guidance and shared valuable experience with the local enthusiasts.
"It was a pleasure to have the ladies visit and they helped out with teaching our juniors and with the warm-ups for the adult section," said Mullingar Coach Ken Fitzpatrick. The two ladies are based at the neighbouring Portlaoise Dojo and hope to take their tests later in the year.
The 2nd Dan test and promotion is a big step up in standard. Students must have trained constantly for a minimum of two years since the date of attaining 1st Dan Black Belt. More knowledge is required, more techniques and more general conditioning and fitness. The student’s character and general abilities as an Instructor are also taken into consideration. They must have Tournament experience also.
The Mullingar Club train twice weekly and new beginners are always welcome. Details www.kyokushinireland.com and 086 1676358.
