Uisce Éireann crews repair burst water main in Moate
Uisce Éireann crews also responded to burst water main in Mullingar.
Uisce Éireann crews worked to repair a major burst on a trunk main in Moate and restore water to customers affected yesterday.
The areas impacted were Ballynacarrigy Town, Ballynacargy East, Ballynacargy South, Moyvore, Ballymore, Moate and surrounding areas in Westmeath.
Separately Uisce Éireann crews also responded to a burst water main that is impacting a small number of properties in Mullingar.
The areas impacted are Clarkemount Avenue, Brosna Grove, Brosna Close, Brosna Lawns, Old Clonmore and surrounding areas in Co. Westmeath.
Works were scheduled to take place until 10am this morning, Saturday 30 May.
Uisce Éireann’s David Gibbons has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply to customers in each area as quickly as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience of these unplanned outages and we thank customers for their support while our works continue.”
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs to the burst and the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place and will be clearly signposted.
