Clonmore residents holding quiz to raise funds for community defibrillator
Residents groups in Clonmore are working with the Mullingar Community First Responders to have a public use defibrillator installed in their area, and they have started raising funds for it.
One of their events is a table quiz at Caffrey’s on Mount Street on Friday of this week, June 5. It starts at 9pm and entry is €50 per table of four.
The location of the defibrillator will be on the main road in Clonmore and it will be fully accessible to the public.
The nearest 24/7 defibrillator to the area is on Dominick Street, so one closer to a number of estates makes sense, says Cllr Ken Glynn, a Clonmore resident who is working with others in the area, including John Reidy from the Newbrook Grove residents group, and the other residents associations in the area.
They have lined up quizmaster Willie Geraghty for the event, so a good night is guaranteed in Caffrey’s on Friday.
