Water Quality Notice – The Cut, Lough Lene

Results from the latest water quality tests at The Cut, Lough Lene indicate that the water quality has returned to ‘Excellent’.

As a result, the temporary Do Not Swim notice has been lifted and the bathing area is open for public use.

Water quality at Lilliput, Lough Ennell remains poor due to elevated bacteria levels.

Westmeath County Council’s Environment Section is continuing to investigate the issue and is carrying out additional water testing.

The temporary Do Not Swim notice remains in place until further notice.
