Free Mullingar event offers fast-track access to orthopaedic advice, physiotherapy triage and treatment options

People in Westmeath and the midlands are being invited to a free public information session in Mullingar next week, offering expert advice on joint pain, mobility issues, physiotherapy support and access to fast-track orthopaedic treatment options.

Hosted by Kingsbridge Private Hospital in partnership with DBC Physio Group, the event is at the Mullingar Park Hotel on Tuesday, 30 June (10am-6pm).

A feature of the event will be the availability of complimentary physiotherapy triage assessments, giving attendees the opportunity to discuss musculoskeletal concerns with experienced physiotherapists and gain a better understanding of the most appropriate treatment for their condition.

Those living with persistent knee, hip, shoulder or back pain are often unsure whether physiotherapy, exercise programmes, specialist consultation or surgical intervention is required. The physiotherapy triage service aims to provide attendees with practical guidance, expert advice and clarity on the next steps available to them.

The event will also provide information on the various ways patients can access treatment at Kingsbridge Private Hospital, including through the Northern Ireland Planned Healthcare Scheme (NIPHS), which allows eligible patients to receive treatment in Northern Ireland and apply for reimbursement from the HSE.

Attendees will also be able to learn more about accessing treatment through their private health insurance, and guidance will be available on the options, benefits and paths open to insured patients seeking faster access to specialist consultations and treatment.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Deirdre McKenny, GP liaison lanager at Kingsbridge Private Hospital, and Liam Heavin, founder and clinical director of DBC Physio Group, who will be available throughout the day to answer questions and provide information.

Ms McKenny said: “We are delighted to be bringing this information event to Mullingar and look forward to welcoming people from across the midlands.

“Many individuals continue to live with pain or reduced mobility because they are unsure what options are available to them or where to begin seeking help. This event is designed to provide clear, practical information and access to experienced healthcare professionals who can help guide them towards the most appropriate treatment. We encourage anyone experiencing ongoing joint, muscle or mobility issues to come along and have a chat with us.”

Liam Heavin, founder and clinical director of DBC Physio Group.

Mr Heavin added: “One of the most important things we can do as we get older is keep moving. Small, regular exercises carried out consistently can make a significant difference to strength, flexibility, balance and overall quality of life.

“At this event, we want to help people understand how simple changes and targeted exercise programmes can support mobility, reduce discomfort and potentially prevent problems from becoming more serious. We are looking forward to meeting people, answering their questions and demonstrating practical ways they can stay active and independent.”

The free event is open to anyone interested in learning more about physiotherapy, mobility, orthopaedic care and available treatment options.

As places are limited, booking is required.
