After Hours At The Museum comes to Edgeworthstown
Thanks to the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, the Maria Edgeworth Centre will be hosting a number of cultural events throughout the summer and early autumn under the nighttime economy, ‘After Hours at the Museum’ scheme.
The committee are working on a programme of events that will include walks, talks, musical performances, exhibitions and more.
Edgeworthstown and the Maria Edgeworth Centre are becoming ‘must see’ experiences and are earning great reviews from visitors.
On Saturday last the Donaghmede Local History Group spent a full day visiting the town.
In their feedback, secretary to the group Mairead McLoughlin wrote: ‘Many thanks to all at the Maria Edgeworth Centre for making it a trip to remember. It will rank as one of the best outings that we have ever had, and we have been going for over 30 years – we will be back.’
Matt Farrell of the Maria Edgeworth Centre said the scheme will allow them to host additional events generating additional footfall.
To kick off the season of events, there will be a ‘Twilight Historical Town Walk’ meeting at the Library on Friday 10 July at 6.30pm finishing up with an opportunity for a chat and a pizza at the Sportsman’s Inn.
