Mullingar Town Band represent town, county and country at 4th July Parade in Washington DC
Mullingar Town Band travelled to the United States yesterday Thursday for “what promises to be a truly memorable tour”.
“We are honoured to represent our town, county and country through music and performance,” said band director, Kim Magee.
“During our visit, we are privileged to perform in the Salute to Independence Parade in Philadelphia, the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC, and in concert at The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin and Thomas Paine Park in New York City.”
On behalf of the band, Kim thanked everyone who has supported them over the past 18 months.
“Whether you attended one of our events, sponsored us, volunteered, or simply wished us well, your encouragement has helped make this incredible opportunity possible.”

“We are especially grateful to North Midlands Credit Union, whose sponsorship helped bring this project to life, and to Una Sweeney, who spent many hours at her sewing machine to ensure all the uniforms fitted our members.
“Their support has ensured that our members will proudly represent Mullingar in a smart new uniform throughout our tour.
“Congratulations also to every one of our band members – their commitment, dedication and countless hours of rehearsal have brought us to this exciting moment.”
