Right: Willie, Mary, Kathleen and Watt Kenny, Mick’s brothers and sisters.Delvin Tidy Towns last Wednesday remembered former chairman Mick Kenny by dedicating a new bench to his memory after they purchased two through a recent fundraising quiz hosted by Paul and Merr in O’Shaughnessy’s.
On the evening, the Kenny family were present along with representatives of local community groups and friends of Mick.
The Kenny family also presented Delvin Tidy Towns and Delvin Parade Committee with €562, raised at the Kenny family memorial match at Delvin GAA grounds recently.
Chairman Ken McPherson said: “We are grateful for the chance to honour Mick Kenny in a meaningful and lasting way. His commitment helped shape the group and acts as an inspiration to our ongoing efforts.”
The event brought the community together for a lasting tribute to Mick’s service and legacy with Delvin Tidy Towns, and Delvin Tidy Towns and Parade committee extend their thanks to the Kenny family for their presentation.
“Community support matters,” said Ken, “and the group would like to recognise every individual and business who contributes Delvin Tidy Towns in helping turn the village into something that will be enjoyed and appreciated for years to come.”

Chairman of Delvin St Patrick’s Parade Committee, Cllr David Jones, stated on the evening: “It’s great to see Mick’s memory and name having a lasting impact, and the funds we received will be put to good use towards our parade in 2027.”
