Uisce Éireann Works to Resolve Long-Standing Bryanstown Water Supply Issues
Uisce Éireann has confirmed that a programme of works will be undertaken to address the long standing water supply and water pressure issues affecting residents in Bryanstown, Ballinea, Mullingar.
Minister of State Robert Troy welcomed the announcement. Troy has been engaging with Uisce Éireann on behalf of local residents for a considerable period, following ongoing complaints regarding poor water pressure and unreliable water supply in the area.
Following his representations, Uisce Éireann has confirmed that works will now be carried out to improve the network.
These include the adjustment of network connections and the installation of pressure control measures, which are aimed at improving water pressure and ensuring a more reliable supply for homes in Bryanstown.
Minister Troy gave his own comments regarding the announcement.
"I very much welcome confirmation from Uisce Éireann that works will now be undertaken to address the long-standing water supply and pressure issues experienced by residents in Bryanstown.
“This has been an issue for a considerable length of time and one that I have consistently raised with Uisce Éireann on behalf of local families.
"I am particularly encouraged that Uisce Éireann has identified practical engineering solutions, including the adjustment of network connections and the installation of pressure controls.
“These works should significantly improve the reliability of the water supply for residents, and I am hopeful they will provide a permanent resolution to the issues that have caused so much frustration.
Minister Troy acknowledged the patience of local residents while the matter was being pursued.
"I want to thank the residents of Bryanstown for their patience and perseverance.
“Access to a reliable water supply is something every household should be able to depend upon, and I know the disruption these ongoing issues have caused.
“I welcome the fact that Uisce Éireann has listened to the concerns raised and has now committed to carrying out these important improvement works."
The Minister said the planned works also highlight the importance of continued investment in water infrastructure throughout Westmeath.
"It is essential that we continue to see investment by Uisce Éireann in upgrading and improving water infrastructure across our county.
“Communities that rely on the public water network must have confidence that they will receive a reliable and consistent water supply every day.
“That confidence can only be delivered through sustained investment in areas where infrastructure requires improvement."
Minister Troy concluded by stating that he will remain in close contact with Uisce Éireann as the works progress.
"I will continue to engage with Uisce Éireann throughout the delivery of these works and will monitor progress closely.
“I look forward to seeing the improvements completed over the coming weeks and, most importantly, to seeing the long-standing issues in Bryanstown finally resolved for local residents."
