Galway defeat Kerry after late drama to win ladies All-Ireland final

Galway are All-Ireland senior ladies football champions after they defeated Kerry 2-07 to 0-12 in Croke Park.

It is Galway's first All-Ireland since 2004, with Leanne Coen's two goals helping the Tribeswomen to victory.

In a repeat of the 2024 final, it was Galway's time to end their over 20-year wait for the Brendan Martin Cup.

The final was not without its drama, as Kerry thought they had won the game in the final seconds, when Siofra O'Shea's free found its way into the net.

However, referee Maggie Farrelly had blown for a square ball, and after some initial confusion, Galway celebrated in a day full of quality football across three finals.

Coen scored the game's first goal after 16 minutes, which put Galway 1-2 to 0-3 ahead.

Three points from Siofra O'Shea helped keep Kerry level, in a first half where defences stood out.

The defences of both sides continued to dominate until a dramatic final 10 minutes completely changed the game.

Róisin Leonard put Galway ahead in the 50th minute, before three quickfire points from O'Shea, and Niamh Ní Chonchuir flipped the game and put Kerry ahead.

However, the drama wasn't finished yet, as Coen scored another great goal to put Galway back in front, with Caoimhe Evans drawing Kerry level with four minutes left.

With just over two minutes left, Eva Noone put the Tribeswomen back in front, in what proved to be the vital score.

O'Shea had a free in the dying moments which dropped into the net, but the referee had already blown for a free-kick, as Galway's wait for an All-Ireland in ladies football ended.

All-Ireland Intermediate Ladies football final

Roscommon are All-Ireland Intermediate Ladies football champions after they defeated Fermanagh 2-12 to 0-6.

Roscommon came out flying out of the blocks, with Aisling Feely scoring their first goal after four minutes, as she scored 4-4 on the day.

Feely had their second after 20 minutes, as the Rossies led 2-4 to one point.

In a dominant first half, Roscommon took a 2-7 to 0-2 lead into the break.

Fermanagh could not stop the ruthless Roscommon attack, as they ran out 12-point winners in Croke Park.

All-Ireland Junior Ladies football final

Antrim are All-Ireland ladies Junior football champions after they defeated Carlow 1-13 to 2-9 in Croke Park.

Maria O'Neil's point in the dying seconds secured victory for Antrim, who were losing finalists last year against Louth.

Antrim started the strongest and had a goal after one minute through Theresa Mellon, who took advantage of a mistake from Carlow goalkeeper Nicole Hanley.

However, some crucial saves from Hanley kept Carlow in the game, as Antrim took a 1-5 to 0-6 lead at the break.

Carlow's comeback continued, and they had the lead in the 48th minute through Aibha Kiernan.

Points from O'Neil and Aoibhoinn Monaghan looked to have secured the win for Antrim, before Mega Townsend's goal with minutes remaining levelled the game up.

Not to be denied two years running, O'Neil's point gave Antrim a day to remember.
