Westmeath community groups invited to municipal district meetings

Community groups across Westmeath are being invited to attend a series of public meetings organised by the Westmeath Public Participation Network (WPPN) to discuss submissions for the 2027 Municipal District Budgets.

The meetings will give PPN member groups an opportunity to receive feedback on submissions, get advice on completing proposals and elect delegates to bring their community’s issues forward at Municipal District meetings.

The Athlone/Moate Municipal District meeting will take place at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone, on Wednesday, September 2, at 7pm. Registration and refreshments will be available from 6.30pm.

A second meeting for the Mullingar/Kinnegad Municipal District will be held at Bloomfield House Hotel, Mullingar, on Wednesday, September 9, also at 7pm, with registration from 6.30pm.

The meetings form part of the formal process of preparing Westmeath County Council’s Municipal District Budgets for 2027.

WPPN is encouraging member groups to identify local issues and submit proposals affecting their communities and areas.
