Mullingar Art Room exhibition returns on Culture Night

Art lovers and curious visitors alike are being invited to celebrate local talent at the Mullingar Art Room Annual Exhibition, which opens on Culture Night, Friday September 18, at 6pm.

The annual exhibition promises a relaxed and enjoyable evening of art and conversation, and the doors are open to everyone. Visitors are encouraged to bring along a friend and enjoy an evening discovering the work of artists from Mullingar and the surrounding area.

There will be plenty to see, from beautifully crafted wooden sculptures to colourful oil and acrylic paintings, as well as pencil, fine liner and pastel drawings.

The group welcome Richie Clarke and his distinctive wooden sculptures back to Mullingar Art Room, and there is also a warm welcome for newcomers Mark Longworth, Zac Keyworth and Adrian Masterson, who bring fresh ideas and perspectives to this year’s exhibition.

The full list of exhibiting artists is Tommy Bolger, Martina Cassidy, Richie Clarke, Angela Cotter, Sarah Curran, Gordon Duffy, Bernie Fay, Peter Finch, Kieran Gaine, Teresa Gammell, Mary Hunt, Ann Keating, Zac Keyworth, Mark Longworth, Adrian Masterson and Brenda Smyth.

While the group are unable to take on new members this year due to limited workspace, the exhibition is open to everyone.

Culture Night is only the beginning, as the exhibition continues on Saturday (11am-9pm) and Sunday (11am-6pm), giving visitors time to drop in and enjoy the work at their leisure.

Mullingar Art Room would like to thank Westmeath County Council, particularly Laura McCormack of the Arts Office, for their much-appreciated grant aid and assistance in preparing for the exhibition.
