Dream Come Through for Westmeath EuroDreams Winner

One Westmeath hopeful had their EuroDreams come true this summer. As part of the online lottery Tier 2 prize for the next five years they will be receiving €2000 a month for the next five years.

The lucky local received the news on Thursday, 30 July and are still coming to terms with their win. In fact they had been completely unaware of their win until they were contacted by the National Lottery Claims Team.

"When the Claims Team called me, I wasn't sure what to make of it, so I went and checked everything myself."

After reviewing their National Lottery account and the draw results, the winner realised the news was genuine.

"I checked my account and checked the numbers and realised it was actually true. Getting a phone call to say you've won €2,000 every month isn't something that happens every day, so I was completely shocked."

The winner said the monthly payments will allow them to plan a few extra treats over the coming years, with a winter getaway already high on the agenda.

"I'd love to head away somewhere sunny during the winter months. Dubai is definitely at the top of the list."

Players dreaming of becoming Ireland’s latest EuroDreams winner are reminded that tickets can be purchased in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this evening.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language. In total, €7 billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 39 years ago. In 2024 alone, €239.3 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
