Grass cutting and footpath repairs sought by Dollard
A number of local works have been promised following requests by Cllr Mick Dollard (right) at the September meeting of the Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District.
The District Office has confirmed that a high hedge at the entrance to the public car park to the rear of Bellview Medical Clinic, off the Delvin Road, will be cut back within the next two weeks. Cllr Dollard had raised the issue in the interests of pedestrian road safety.
He also asked that vegetation be removed from the boundary wall of Ballyglass Graveyard. The District Office said it would inspect the wall and remove the vegetation as part of its normal maintenance programme.
A further request concerned the estate name of Friars Mill Court, which Cllr Dollard asked to have reinstated at an early date.
The District Office confirmed that signage would be reinstated at the location.
Cllr Dollard also asked the district to arrange for grass margins on roads close to Coralstown to be cut.
The District Office said it was currently cutting grass along all major routes, junctions and approaches to towns and villages and confirmed that the Coralstown area would also be cut.
Meanwhile, repairs are to be carried out to footpaths serving houses at Meadow Court on the Dublin Road.
The District Office said it had appointed a contractor to carry out footpath works throughout the district and that repairs at Meadow Court would be included as part of those works.
