The late Kathleen Fallon
The death occurred on February 9 of Kathleen Fallon, of Rathnugent, Castletown Geoghegan.Mrs. Fallon, who was 71, died peacefully at the Regional Hospital in Mullingar, having had a run of bad health over the past two years, which she had endured bravely.Wife of Tommy Fallon, Kathleen, nee Darby, was a native of Rathcolman, Mullingar. She was a family-oriented woman, and also took pride in her community and parish.An avid fan of the Gaelic Athletic Association, one of the proudest moments of Kathleen's life was in 1995 when her son Seán was on the local question time team which took a national Scór title. Kathleen was also intensely proud of the fact that her son has represented Ireland at Australian Rules football.Mrs. Fallon was also fond of music, and was a great fan of the local musicians Foster and Allen, and, of course, of Joe Dolan.In latter years, she was also keen on bingo, and would travel to the bingo in Mullingar, Kilbeggan and Ballymore.She is survived by her husband, and also by her son Seán, and by her daughters Deirdre and Veronica, and her grandson, Jamie. She is also survived by her brother, Matt, who lives on the Ahse Road in Mullingar; and by her sisters, Christina, Kildare; Mona, Rathcolman, and Margaret, D'Alton Park, as well as by her nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family and friends.The remains were brought from Mrs. Fallon's residence to St. Michael's Church, Castletown Geoghegan on Thursday February 11, where they were greeted by Rev. Brendan Ferris, C.C., Tyrrellspass.Fr. Ferris also celebrated the funeral Mass, following which Mrs. Fallon was laid to rest in Castletown Geoghegan cemetery.
