Cyclist (60s) dies after being hit by car in north Dublin

A man has died following a two-vehicle collision between a car and a cyclist in Coolock, Co Dublin.

The collision occurred on the R139 in Dublin on Monday evening shortly after 8 pm.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and traffic diversions have since been lifted.

The Coroner has been notified and the deceased has been transported to the Dublin City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who were in the area between 7:30pm and 8:15pm and may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
