Streete Vintage Festival 2025 marks 75 years of VW in Ireland
Streete Vintage Show is expanding this year to a three-day festival, giving regulars and new visitors a weekend of nostalgia, entertainment, and family fun to look forward to from June 27 to 29.
This year’s show also marks 75 years of Volkswagen in Ireland, in conjunction with Mullingar Autos, and a display of classic VW vehicles is sure to captivate car enthusiasts of all ages.
Eamonn Campbell, PRO of the organising committee, said: “It’s great to have Mullingar Autos on board this year as main sponsor, and we’re putting on a special display of Volkswagen vehicles through the years to mark the 75 anniversary.”
Eamon is also looking forward to what will be one of the main attractions this year, lawnmower racing. “A group from the Northern Ireland Lawn Mower Racing Association (NILMRA) are travelling to showcase their sport, and they’ll be racing all day.”
Highlights
Friday June 27: Start the weekend with social dancing featuring music from the popular Stuart Moyles. A perfect evening to enjoy good music and friendly company.
Saturday June 28: The fun continues with a vintage tractor run and a vintage all-vehicle road run, showcasing a wide array of beautifully preserved classic vehicles.
Sunday June 29: Expect a full day of entertainment with the fun fair and the popular All Breeds Dog Show. One of the main attractions will be the lawn mower racing.
Enjoy live music throughout the day by Patrick Feeney, Carragh Lynch, and Lauren McCrory, providing the soundtrack to a great day out.
Sponsored by Mullingar Autos, this event promises a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for families, vintage vehicle lovers, and music fans alike.
Launch event
Streete Vintage Club hosted the official launch of the Streete Vintage weekend in Murphy’s Crossroads Inn, Lisryan on the June bank holiday weekend. The event coincided with a cheque presentation to the Irish Cancer Society of funds raised at the Cars and Coffee event last March.
The event was in memory of Anne Creamer, RIP. Anne worked at the community centre for more than 20 years and is greatly missed by all who knew her.
A special word of thanks to Mary McBrien, who was Anne’s work colleague, for accepting the presentation cheque on behalf the Creamer family. Eamon said: “We were delighted to say we raised €4,605, which will go to support palliative care by the Irish Cancer Society. Thanks to Pauline, Gerry and all the staff at the Crossroads Inn for all their hospitality.
"Thanks to Ray Montana, who had the dance floor filled all night and to Declan and Willie on the BBQ. Thanks to Mitchell Meats in Mohill for sponsoring the burgers and the McGlynn family for sponsoring burger buns and salads.
"All funds raised from the BBQ and the raffle are going to Longford Sub Aqua, who will have a display at the show on 29 June. We look forward to seeing you all then.”
