Heavy rain hits Westmeath

This morning saw significant rainfall throughout Westmeath, with torrential rain hitting the midlands throughout the morning.

Temperatures are expected to be in the region of 18 degrees throughout Tuesday, with lows of around 14 degrees.

Driving conditions may be challenging throughout the day, with many drains overflowing and causing flooding in Mullingar.

Besides Wednesday, the rest of the week will remain wet, with rain expected from Thursday through to Sunday.

On Monday, Met Éireann released a status Yellow weather warning for Westmeath and surrounding areas, advising the public to be prepared for potential thunderstorms.
